Victoria Bousis is a filmmaker and creative technologist known for her pioneering work in immersive storytelling and social impact. She began her career as a prosecutor, advocating for justice on behalf of the marginalized. Transitioning into cinema, she produced award-winning films that explore the human experience, achieving recognition at Venice, TIFF, and Sundance.
Her directorial debut, Stay Alive My Son, an immersive and interactive VR film, has garnered acclaim worldwide. Premiered at Venice and later showcased at Cannes, SXSW, and the United Nations, it won the 2023 PGA Innovation Award, Best Experience and Game of the Year, Best Social Impact, and Best Narrative awards. This groundbreaking project serves as a catalyst for change, empowering global policy discussions around refugee family reunification and human dignity, in collaboration with the UNHCR.
Victoria is a visionary in XR, AI, spatial computing, and digital human technology. She’s a keynote speaker at major industry events like TEDx MIT, the National Broadcasters Association, NFT NYC, and SIGGRAPH, often discussing her innovative approach to storytelling and technology.
Currently, she’s developing an immersive fashion show with designer Peter Dundas and a museum installation featuring AI-driven narratives about iconic figures in collaboration with MIT and a leading publication. Victoria holds a Master’s in Media, Technology, and Innovation from MIT and a Juris Doctorate. As a member of the Academy’s Emerging Technology Group and the Producers Guild of America, she continues to push the boundaries of storytelling for social impact and innovation.
