Executive Producer, Showrunner, Director
Senain Kheshgi is an award-winning executive producer and showrunner with a proven track record of building premium, culturally resonant unscripted series for major networks and streamers. With a background in both scripted and non-scripted content, Senain blends editorial rigor with commercial instincts, delivering bingeable, character-driven shows that connect with global audiences. She most recently served as Executive Producer on Muslim Matchmaker, the groundbreaking eightepisode docu-reality series for ABC News Studios, Hulu, and Disney, developed in collaboration with Academy Award-nominated producer Smriti Mundhra (Indian Matchmaking). The series brought humor, heart, and high production value to the world of modern Muslim dating and marked a major milestone in representation for South Asian and Muslim audiences on mainstream platforms.
Senain has showrun and executive produced series and specials across streaming, broadcast, and digital platforms, leading teams through development, casting, production, post, and network delivery. She’s known for shaping formats that combine editorial sophistication with genre appeal—often anchored by underrepresented characters, rich cultural worlds, and global storytelling perspectives.
Previously, Senain directed and produced the Emmy-nominated ESPN documentary The Diplomat and codirected the PBS feature Project Kashmir, but her recent focus has been squarely on entertainmentforward, returnable formats. She also led creative direction and executive production for Future Forward, Amazon’s flagship climate docuseries featuring Oscar- and Emmy-winning directors, combining top-tier production with brand alignment.
As founder of MAJORITY, a boutique, female-led production company backed by M&C Saatchi, Senain spearheads commercial, branded, and television content with a unique focus on emerging women directors. MAJORITY’s clients include Microsoft, JetBlue, GitHub, and Patagonia, and the company is currently developing original IP in the unscripted space with both U.S. and international partners.
Senain is a three-time Sundance Fellow, a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), and an elected Governor of the Television Academy representing the Documentary Programming peer group. She has served on the board of the International Documentary Association and mentors emerging creatives through Sundance, Firelight, Brown Girls Doc Mafia, and beyond.
She is also the founder and creative director of Vista House, a private membership club and artistic incubator for filmmakers, showrunners, and creative entrepreneurs based in Los Angeles.
