Rob Avruch is the Director of Strategy & Practice at Harmony Labs, a media research lab that uses science, data, and creativity to understand and reshape our relationship with media. With over a decade of experience at the intersection of storytelling, movement-building, and systems change, he most recently served as a Senior Program Officer at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, where he led a $15M narrative portfolio focused on housing justice in California. His work integrated grantmaking, research, convenings, and capacity building to shift public discourse and build the narrative infrastructure required for long-term systems change. Rob also serves on the board of the Civic Space Foundation and as Co-Chair of the Investment and Philanthropy Peer Group at the Impact Guild, where he helps guide national conversations on resourcing media, culture, and democracy.
