Nicole Starr

Narrative Change Strategist, formerly SVP, Content Representation & Impact, Participant

Nicole is an accomplished entertainment executive and strategic impact leader, leveraging storytelling to drive social and cultural change. Passionate about connecting stories into movements, Nicole joined Participant in 2013, where she worked as SVP, Content Representation & Impact, ensuring Participant’s slate of film and TV content aligned with the company’s impact priorities and authentically reflects the world around us. This included applying a lens of impact, issue-based insights, and representation at the beginning of the development process and carrying that perspective through production, into content greenlight and eventually, the project’s social impact campaign. Prior to that, Nicole led the development and execution of award-winning impact and narrative change campaigns for numerous films including Out of My Mind, Judas and the Black Messiah, Spike Lee’s American Utopia, RBG, and Academy Award® winner Roma. Notably, the impact campaign around Roma helped shift the narrative around domestic workers and inspired the cultural conditions for policy change in the US and Mexico.
