Martha Adams is an Emmy-winning filmmaker, movement builder, and media strategist, celebrated as one of Newsweek’s 125 Women of Impact for her pioneering work championing women’s and girls’ empowerment. Renowned for her expertise in storytelling and galvanizing global audiences, her film campaigns—including Girl Rising and We Will Rise: Michelle Obama’s Mission to Educate Girls Around the World—have reached millions worldwide and earned accolades such as Participant Media’s 98/100 rating for measurable social impact (Girl Rising), Forbes Magazine’s #1 Most Dynamic Social Initiative, and Fast Company’s “World Changing Ideas.”
Martha’s latest campaign, She Creates Change, is a groundbreaking animation-live-action initiative produced in partnership with the Troper Wojcicki Foundation and funded by Melinda French Gates’ Pivotal Ventures. Created in support of Room to Read’s girls’ education program, the campaign spans TV, curriculum, books, audio, and music in 13+ languages. Its trailer garnered 21 million views ahead of a successful festival run (Tribeca, SXSW EDU, Manchester Animation Festival, San Francisco Film Festival) and a TV debut on International Women’s Day 2024 via Warner Brothers Discovery.
Martha also serves as a Film Expert for the U.S. Department of State’s American Film Showcase, is a Senior Fellow at USC’s Marshall Brittingham Social Enterprise Lab, and is a member of the Producers Guild of America. From 2020 to 2022, she served as President of Entertainment at Rebel Girls and remains a passionate advisor to the publishing company, best known for the NYT’s best-selling Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls series.
