Senior Media Advisor, Power to Decide – Media Strategy for Social Impact

Marisa Nightingale is a nationally recognized media strategist who harnesses the power of entertainment to drive social change. She brings evidence-based information on reproductive health and related issues to storytellers to inform their content, spark conversations and inspire action. She builds lasting relationships between issue experts and entertainment leaders and forges collaborations at all stages of the creative process.

As Senior Media Advisor to Power to Decide, she has led content partnerships and audience activations with TV/film at networks, streamers, production companies and lifestyle brands including MTV, Netflix, TLC, ABC, HULU, Cosmopolitan, ESSENCE, Teen Vogue, Marie Claire, Buzzfeed and more. She was instrumental in developing the #ThxBirthControl campaign and in leading audience research to bring young people’s views and voices into popular media. Together, these efforts increase positive portrayals of reproductive health, open up conversations and connect audiences with helpful resources.

As a consultant, she has helped nonprofits advocating for maternal and child health, child development and gender equity translate research into content that engages audiences through popular media. She started her career at Share Our Strength, helping to mobilize the culinary community to fight hunger.

A dynamic speaker, published author and trusted press source, Marisa has discussed media impact on The Today Show, The View, NPR, USA Today, The Washington Post, the UN Foundation, The Television Academy and top universities. She is on advisory boards for Brady United and Planned Parenthood of DC, and is a Collaborator at the UCLA Center for Scholars and Storytellers. She is a Yale graduate and lives in Washington, DC, with her husband, teenage sons and a rescue pup.
