Jonny Gomez grew up in Los Angeles surrounded by his massive Mexican family. As a middle child who couldn’t seem to get a word in edgewise, a career in writing made perfect sense. His recent credits include Co-Producer on Season 2 of Sugar (Apple TV) and Executive Story Editor on an upcoming Apple TV drama.

Jonny spent four seasons on This Is Us (NBC) where he rose from Writers’ Assistant to Staff Writer and wrote three episodes. In 2020, he was honored to receive a Sentinel Award alongside fellow TIU writers Julia Brownell and Kevin Falls for their work in representing Aging and Alzheimer’s/Dementia over a multi-episode arc.

Previously, he has worked in the Post-Production Office at Sony Pictures Television as well as the Writers’ Offices of Preacher (AMC) and Better Call Saul (AMC). In his free time, Jonny can be found studying traffic patterns (no, seriously) or perfecting his recipe for cold brew coffee.
