Glenn Gainor is a visionary leader with over 30 years in the entertainment industry, known for pioneering innovations that drive global storytelling. Currently, as Head of Physical Production at Amazon Original Movies, he has overseen films like Candy Cane Lane, Red One, Being the Ricardos, and The Tender Bar. His expertise has guided productions at two major studios, with previous leadership at Sony’s Screen Gems, where he produced hits such as Think Like a Man, Friends with Benefits, and Obsessed.
Gainor co-created Sony Innovation Studios, bringing advanced technologies like volumetric capture to filmmakers. His work in sustainable production practices, beginning in 2007, earned him the Environmental Media Association’s Green Seal and the LA City Council’s recognition for environmentally friendly practices. Under his leadership, Screen Gems adopted eco-friendly film set construction, and Gainor was the first to approve Sony’s Alpha 7SII consumer cameras for feature films.
Gainor’s contributions have been celebrated with the Producers Without Borders’ Social Impact Award. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, BAFTA, and AIS, known for inspiring the next generation of creators through his work in technology and storytelling.
