David Daniel is a Senior Producer for entertainment news at CNN Newsource, which distributes his stories on movies, television, streaming, and pop culture to more than 1,200 affiliates and CNN.com. Over his three-plus decades in journalism, beginning at CNN Headline News, he’s conducted nearly 2,000 interviews, produced stories on everything from the Academy Awards to the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge, and broke the news of Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s misspelled star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He’s been an instructor at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism, teaching the skills of broadcast writing, reporting, and producing to the next generation of journalists. A native Angeleno, he can often be found riding public transit (yes, in L.A.) while quoting random lines from “My Favorite Year,” “The West Wing,” and “Firefly.”
